Applications invited to fill up IAS vancancy from Non-State Civil Service officers

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 7 
The Haryana Government has invited applications to fill up one vacancy of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) by selection from Non-State Civil Service (SCS) to State IAS cadre for the Select List of 2016-A (vacancy arisen between January 1 and December 31, 2016).
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that as per provisions made in the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954 and the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Selection) Regulations, 1997, it had been decided to fill up one vacancy of Indian Administrative Service from among the Non-State Civil Service Officers serving in connection with the affairs of the State.
        Therefore, all Administrative Secretaries in the State would sponsor the names of eligible officers who fulfil the given criteria as on January 1, 2016 after getting approval of the Minister-in-charge of the Department within one month till 5 p.m.
        To be eligible for the post, the officer should be of outstanding merit and ability, and should hold a gazetted post in a substantive capacity. He or she should have completed not less than eight years of continuous service under the State Government on the first day of January of the year in which his or her case is being considered in any post which has been declared equivalent to the post of Deputy Collector in the State Civil Service and propose the person for consideration of the Committee. The officer should be below the age of 56 years as on January 1, 2016. The cut-off age has been increased to 56 years, as per the amendments to the IAS Selection Regulations, he added.
