Applications invited for Post Matric Merit Scholarship

CHANDIGARH, JULY 10 
The Haryana Government has invited applications for Post Matric Merit Scholarship from eligible candidates of Haryana who passed matric examination in March, 2018, latest by September 30, 2018.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Secondary Education Department said that any candidate from Haryana who have passed matric examination held in March 2018 from any government, government aided or private schools would be eligible for this scholarship. Under this scheme, scholarship will be given only to those students who have taken admission in class ten plus one in schools of Haryana only.
        He said that after examining all application forms of candidates, belonging to rural or urban areas who have passed matric with minimum 95 per cent marks, would be selected for scholarship of merit basis. He said that benefit of renewal of scholarship in class ten plus two will be given to only those students who would pass class ten plus one examination. Students who would leave schools after class ten plus one would not be given benefit of renewal of scholarship, he added.
        The spokesman said that for this scholarship, no annual income limit of parents has been prescribed. The scholarship would be given for entire academic session, he added.
        He said that the students who are studying in classes ten plus one and ten plus two, their schools concerned would send their scholarship claims, forms along with merit after inspection to the District Education Officer (DEO) who would further consolidate and send them by hand to Directorate through special messenger.
          Under the scheme, the renewal of scholarship would be mandatory after class ten plus one. For this, the Principal of school would duly inspect the application forms and send them to the DEO. Application forms for fresh application would be made available free of cost to students who have passed matric at their respective schools by the Board of School Education, Bhiwani. In case of late result declared or late admissions, the last date of form would be valid for next 15 days than the prescribed date.
        Incomplete and late received forms could be cancelled for which the Principal of the school concerned would be responsible, he added.

VACATION PAY: The Haryana Government has decided that teachers appointed on contractual basis would be entitled for vacation pay during Autumn or Winter break, provided the incumbent has worked at least  one month prior to and afterwards each time.
        While giving information about Re-engagement Policy, a spokesman of Secondary Education Department said that the post of PGT Physical Education had been included under Re-engagement policy. The retirees from other State’s Education Department, who are proficient in Hindi and are bonafide residents of Haryana, would be re-engaged on the basis of qualification and experience under the policy.
Five per cent extra weightage would be given to retirees of the Department of Education, he added.
