CM inaugurates Venkateshwara Tirupati Balaji Temple in Kurukshetra

CHANDIGARH, JULY 1
The Lord Venkateshwara Tirupati Balaji Temple under Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust, Kurukshetra, was opened to public today by the Haryana Chief Minister  Manohar Lal.
          Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the temple would become a hub of tourists as now devotees, especially from north India, would not be required to go to Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh) for worshipping Lord Venkateshwara.
   Built near Brahma Sarovar and spread over 5.52 acres of land, this temple is the biggest in north India. An amount of about Rs 34 crore would be spent on the construction of this project, out of which Rs 18 crore has already been spent.
It took hard work of thousands of contractual labourers and 1,500 tonnes of graphite brought from Tamil Nadu to complete the miniature replica of Tirupati temple in Haryana.
        The Chief Minister said with the construction of this temple, Haryana would also be known for pilgrimage to Balaji at the international level.
Earlier, the Chief Minister, Mr  Manohar Lal alongwith the , Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr  Krishan Kumar Bedi,  MLA Thanesar Mr Subhash Sudha, Principal Secretary, Mr TVSN Prasad, IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh Government Mr Pravin Prakash performed puja of Lord Venketeshwara amidst the chants by the Scholar Srinivasa who specially came from Andhra Pradesh alongwith other scholars for the purpose. 
          On the occasion Principal Secretary TVSN Prasad said that a local committee has also been constituted for managing the affairs of the temple. This temple would remain open from 6 am to 9 pm for the pilgrims.
