Haryana invites applications for Padma Awards

CHANDIGARH, JULY 2
The Haryana Government has invited nominations for the Padma Awards (Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri), which are among the highest civilian honours to be announced on the occasion of Republic Day, 2019.
      Giving details an official spokesperson said that a written communication addressed to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners by the Chief Secretary stated that nominations should be submitted to the State Government on prescribed Performa by August 10 so as to enable the committee of the State Government to identify, consider and finalise their recommendations before sending it to the Centre.
            He said that the performa should have full name, address, date of birth, important events of his life and his current occupation details in both English and Hindi languages. Recommendations received after the due date would not be considered.
          He said that Government Servants including those working in Public Sector Undertakings except doctors and scientists would not be eligible for Padma Awards. The award seeks to recognise work of distinction and is given for distinguished and exceptional achievements or service in all fields or disciples such as arts, literature and education, sports, medicine, social work, science and engineering, public services, civil services, trade and industries and others.
USE OF OPEN SPACES: Municipal Corporation Panchkula has issued instructions that prior approval for use of open spaces is needed to be obtained from the Corporation to raise any temporary structure and any other facilities in Panchkula city.
            Giving details an official spokesman said that open spaces falling in Panchkula city vest with the Corporation. Prior paid permission of Municipal Corporation would be necessary if any individual or firm or company is interested to raise the temporary structure and any other facilities on open space in Panchkula city. The Corporation has full right to charge the ground rent, he added.
           He said that legal action would be initiated against those violating these instructions of Municipal Corporation.
TRAFFICE POLICE STATIONS: The Haryana Government has decided to set up a new Traffic Police Station in Police district Hansi. With this, the number of traffic police stations will increase to 23 in the state.
          While disclosing this here today, Director General of Police Mr B.S. Sandhu said that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has approved the creation of new Traffic Police Station in Hansi. He said a decision to set up a new traffic police station has been taken in view of the rapid traffic volumes on the roads in the town, which is located on the both sides of national highway between Hisar and national capital Delhi. This move would help in tackling the issue of congestion and unregulated traffic in the town.
          The DGP said that presently 22 traffic police stations are functional in the state including one each in 20 districts and two in Gurugram. He said that the Chief Minister had also announced the setting up six new traffic police stations in the state’s jurisdiction on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) highways, one each in district of Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mewat, Palwal and Faridabad to regulate traffic on the expressway.
          Mr Sandhu also thanked the Chief Minister for giving his consent for the creation of seven new police stations in Commissionerate of Police, Faridabad. This would also help in further strengthening the law and order in view of the increase in population and rapid urbanization, he added.
          He said that Police Department had also launched a month-long drive to strictly deal with the traffic violators especially the motorists without helmets on the national highways in the state during June 2018.
