Brahmsarovar selected among Swachh Iconic Places

CHANDIGARH, JULY 3
Haryana’s religious place  Brahmsarovar of district Kurukshtra  has been selected by Government of India  among the list of ten places,   Swachh Iconic Places (SIP) under phase III of its flagship programme, Swachh Bharat Mission.  This projects would be completed by the joint efforts of  Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Tourism,  and support of state governments and local administration.
            Giving details an official spokesperson said here today that under the three phases of Swachh Bharat Mission, 30 places have been selected so far and Kurukshetra is among the ten places of its third phase. The 3rd phase  of the flagship project of Swachh Iconic Places includes Raghavendra Swamy Temple (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh), Hazardwari Palace (Murshidabad, West Bengal), Brahma Sarovar Temple (Kurukshetra, Haryana), Vidur Kuti (Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh), Mana village (Chamoli, Uttarakhand), Pangong Lake (Leh-Ladakh, Jammu & Kashmir), Nagvasuki Temple (Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh), Ima Keithal/market (Imphal, Manipur), Sabarimala Temple (Kerala) and Kanvashram (Uttarakhand).
He said that under the scheme, the government would take up initiatives like improved sewage infrastructure, drainage facilities, installation of sewage treatment plant (STP), improved sanitation facilities and water vending machines (Water ATMs).
He added that solid and liquid waste management (SLWM) set-up, structure restoration, roads maintenance, lighting arrangements, beautification of parks, better transport facilities in approach and access areas will also be taken up at the main sites.
HARYANA GIRLS EXCEL IN ALL FIELDS: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the girls of the State have been excelling in every field and brining laurels to their families and the state.
        The Chief Minister was interacting with the first runner up of FBB Colors Femina Miss India 2018, Ms. Meenakshi Chaudhary of Panchkula today called on him, here today.
        Mr. Manohar Lal said that the state, which was earlier defamed for its poor sex ratio, is now known for improved and balanced sex ratio as a result of the efforts made by the present State Government in last three years. He said that there is no lack of talent in girls of Haryana and the girls have earned name in every field. He said that the girls of Haryana have also performed well in the recently held IAS examination. The girls are moving forward in all fields and will continue to move so on. Whatever obstacles they will face in their path, the State Government would make concerted efforts to remove them, he added.
COMMENTS INVITED FOR SETTING UP OF HECI: The State Project Director, Rashtriya Uchhtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), Haryana has directed all Vice Chancellors of state and private universities, and all Principals of Government and Government Aided Colleges to furnish comments and suggestions on draft Act for setting up Higher Education Commission of India.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that the draft Act is available on the website of Ministry of Human Resource Development (mhrd.gov.in) and they may provide their comments and suggestion to office of State Project Director (RUSA), Panchkula through email id feedback.hechry@gmail.com by July 5, 2018 for further compliance and submission to MHRD.
The Government of India has decided to set up Higher Education Commission of India which will repeal UGC Act. Accordingly the Ministry has prepared draft Act for setting up of the Commission and placed in public domain for comments and suggestions. The focus of Higher Education Commission will be on improving academic standards and quality of Higher Education, he added.
PLAN TO USE HINDI IN JUDICIAL PROCEDURE: The Haryana Government would request the Governor, Prof. Kaptan Singh Solanki, to send a written communication to the President of India so that the use of Hindi language could be started in the judicial procedure in the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
         Stating this here today, an official spokesman said that concerted efforts were being made to make the use of Hindi language mandatory in judicial work in the high court.
      After getting approval, the hearing of petitions is being done in Hindi language in four high courts of the country at Allahabad (Uttar Pradesh), Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Patna (Bihar). After hearing, the judgments are also being delivered in Hindi language.
          In view of this, the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has expressed his interest that approval may be given for use of Hindi language in the Punjab and Haryana High Court also so that litigants are able to understand the entire proceedings and are able to present their views.
      Out to promote the use of Hindi, the state government had recently issued directions that electricity and water bills are issued in Hindi language also.
           It has also been decided that circulars would be issued in Hindi language in the state. The Languages Department would ensure that circulars related to all departments are issued in simple Hindi so that general public could be benefitted.
