Haryana Vidhan Sabha pay rich tributes to prominent personalities

CHANDIGARH, AUG 2
 Haryana Vidhan Sabha today paid rich tributes to the prominent personalities, who have expired between the period from the end of the previous session and the beginning of the current monsoon Session which commenced, here today. The members of the House also observed a two-minute silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
          The Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, who is also the Leader of the House, paid tributes to country’s politicians, former members of Haryana Vidhan Sabha, freedom fighters, martyrs of Haryana and close relatives of members of Haryana Vidhan Sabha and other prominent personalities. MLA, Mrs. Kiran Choudhry and MLA, Mr. Abhay Singh Chautala also paid tributes to the departed souls and read obituary resolutions on the behalf of their parties. 
          In the House, tributes were also paid to former Goa Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, former Chief Minister Delhi, Mrs Sheila Dikshit, former Haryana Minister, Mrs Sharda Rani and, former Member of Joint Punjab Legislative Assembly, Mrs Snehlata.
          Apart from this, four freedom fighters of Haryana including Mr. Jagir Singh, a resident of village Karah Sahib, district Kurukshetra, Mr. Ram Narayan, a resident of village Musepur, district Rewari, Mr. Desh Raj Bhatt, a resident of Ambala City, district Ambala and Mr. Duli Chand, a resident of village Duwarka, district Charkhi Dadri. Similarly, the House also paid tributes to 34 brave soldiers, who showed indomitable courage and made the supreme sacrifice while safeguarding the unity and integrity of motherland.           The House also expressed deep sense of sorrow on the untimely demise of Kanwarias (Shiv Devotees) of Haryana who recently died in road accidents.
