Haryana to host state-level youth program on August 8

CHANDIGARH, AUG 1
With the aim of motivating the state youth to serve the country, the Haryana Government will organise a state-level youth program on August 8 in Charkhi Dadri. The program will have a participation of around 15 thousand youth from the state.
          This was informed in a meeting presided over by the  Chief Secretary, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora during a review meeting regarding the preparedness of the program held here today.
          During the meeting, it was informed that the main theme of the program is "Shaheedo ko Naman”. It was further informed that going by its theme the program will be having a display of the Martyrs paintings along with their stories of courage so that the youth will get inspiration from the heroic story of these martyrs. With this, the youngsters who have excelled in various fields will be honored.
          Mrs Arora directed the officers concerned to organise an exhibition in the programme, in which a pavilion of the Army and Air Force should also be made and along with this all the necessary information regarding Army recruitment should be made available for the youth participating in the programme.
          Apart from this, information about the schemes being run by the State Government for the welfare of martyrs and also for their families will also be disseminated. The Chief Secretary directed the officers to put up a stall of the skill development University having information about the on-going skill development courses being run for the youth in the university.
          It was also informed that the Saksham youth will also be invited to the program and the employment department will disseminate the important details about various schemes run by the government for their welfare.
          The Chief Secretary also instructed the Police Department to set up an anti-drug Exhibition to provide information on the adverse effects of drugs so that the youth could be aware of the drug abuse.  During the program the youth will also be made aware of the Central Government's flagship scheme, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, so that they can actively participate in this campaign.
          The Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan, Principal Secretary, Sainik and Ardh Sainik Welfare Department, Mr. Raja Sekhar Vundru, Secretary, General Administration, Mr. Vijayendra Kumar and other officials attended the meeting.
