Considerable decline in road accidents in Haryana

There has been a considerable decline  in the number of road accidents in Haryana during this year as compare to that of the last year. According to the data available with the State Crime Record Bureau, 4619 road accidents had occurred during last year till June 11out of which 1817 were severe accidents and these resulted in  deaths of 2039 persons and 4044 were injured. As compared to it, 4159 road accidents have occurred during this year till June 9, 2012 out of which 1770 were severe accidents in which 2041 persons died and 3829 were injured.
          While stating this today, a spokesman of the police department said that the State Crime Record Bureau had been analysing causes of accidents from time to time. He said that during last year, till June 2011, 225 road accidents occurred in Ambala as against 231 road accidents this year till June 9. As many as 112 road accidents had taken place in Panchkula last year and till now it was 100, Karnal had 269 road accidents last year and till now it was 208, Yamunanagar had 207 road accidents last year and till now it was 148, Kurukshetra had 216 road accidents last year and till now it was 164, Kaithal had 133 road accidents last year and till now it was 129, Hisar had 277 road accidents last year and till now it was 257 and Jind had 151 road accidents last year and till now it was 147.
          Similarly, Fatehabad had 95 road accidents last year and till now it was 84, Bhiwani had 231 road accidents last year and till now it was 235, Sirsa had 134 road accidents last year and till now it was 121, Jhajjar had 195 road accidents last year and till now it was 173, Panipat had 202 road accidents last year and till now it was 179, Sonipat had 298 road accidents last year and till now it was 299, Rohtak had 192 road accidents last year and till now it was 203, Rewari had 300 road accidents last year and till now it was 263, Mewat had 173 road accidents last year and till now it was 195, Mahendergarh had 203 road accidents last year and till now it was 166, Palwal had 212 road accidents last year and till now it was 210, Gurgaon had 439 road accidents last year and till now it was 451, Faridabad had 322 road accidents last year and till now it was 276 and in railways, 33 accidents had occurred last year and  till now it was 25.
          He said that these figures have revealed that Haryana Police is very much concerned about road accidents and special campaigns were launched from time to time to effectively deal with various causes of such accidents.
