HSIIDC organizes first e-auction of booth sites

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 17
In order to ensure equitable dispersal of growth of industries to all parts of the State which were earlier dubbed as low potential areas, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) organized first e-auction of booth sites in Industrial Estate Narnaul and residential plots in Industrial Model Township (IMT) Bawala.
Stating this here today, Industries Minister Captain Abhimanyu said that the electronic auction (e-Auction) is a step towards ease in doing business and is a platform for conducting non-intrusive auction without any contact between auctioneers and other bidders.
The Industries Minister said that HSIIDC in its first e-auction for seven booth sites in Industrial Estate Narnaul garnered Rs.1.79 crore against the reserve price of Rs.18.83 lakh per booth. He said that the Corporation was able to realize Rs.30.50 lakh per booth totaling Rs.1.79crore. The auction drew an overwhelming response and more than 20 bidders participated in the bidding or e-auction for these sites. Similarly the site in Industrial Model Township (IMT) Bawal fetched Rs.1.13crore, he further added.
He said that this e-auction system would help in realizing the long pending demand of the local business community to invest and setting up new ventures in southern Haryana. Moreover, the industrial scenario after this e-auction especially in Narnaul, a historical town, would now undergo a sea change. The town is emerging as a premier centre of commercial as well as industrial activity in this part of Haryana, he added. He said that Industrial Estate Narnaul, developed by HSIIDC, a hitherto backward town of south Haryana, is well connected by road and rail network, has now emerged as a hot spot for fresh investment.
Capt. Abhimanyu said that under this e-auction system, auction takes place on an electronic marketplace. He said that it is an electronic commerce which occur business to consumer (B2C). The auctioneer offers his goods, commodities or services on an auction site on the internet and the interested parties could submit their bid for the product to be auctioned in certain specified periods on the specified portal. The auction is transparent as all interested parties are allowed to participate in it in a timely manner by registering themselves on the specified portal, he added.
