More than 67.68 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy have so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana whereas during this period last year, about 61.91 lakh MT paddy had arrived in the mandis.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival this year, the government procurement agencies have procured about 53.27 lakh MT and over 14.40 lakh MT was procured by millers and dealers.
He said that the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department had procured over 22.62 lakh MT of paddy and HAFED had procured more than 18.35 lakh MT of paddy. He said that the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation has procured over 6.30 lakh MT of paddy, Haryana Warehousing Corporation more than 5.67 lakh MT and Food Corporation of India has procured 32,119 MT of paddy.
While referring to arrival of paddy in various districts of the state he said that a maximum of about 12.42 lakh MT of paddy had arrived in the mandis of Karnal, followed by 11.71 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, about 8.18 lakh MT in Kaithal and 7.31 lakh MT in Ambala. Similarly 6.92 lakh MT of paddy had arrived in the mandis of Fatehabad and 5.30 lakh MT in Yamunanagar.
e-TRANSACTION FACILITY AT TOLL PLAZA: The Kherki Daula toll plaza in district Gurugram is providing several types of e-transaction facilities for payment of toll so that commuters may not face any problem.
While stating this today, Project Director, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Mr. A.K. Sharma, said that any commuter could now pay toll by swiping his or her debit card on Point of Sale (POS) machines.
He said that the NHAI has installed 58 POS devices of State Bank of India, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur, IDFC and Punjab National Bank. One machine each has been kept at all toll booths so that the toll operators could take the POS machines to commuters to assist them in paying toll on the spot. Apart from this, toll could also be paid via Paytm mobile app after scanning QR Code. Separate QR Code has been assigned to each lane, he added.
He said that commuters could also pay toll through mobile application ‘Highway Saathi’, which provides for payment against a single trip as well as a monthly discount pass. The application could also be used in case of mishap or for any other assistance. Apart from this, Fast-tags and Pass-tags have been launched for further easing the process of payment of toll, he added.
DIGITAL TRANSACTIONS: Haryana Government has signed an agreement with the State Bank of India (SBI) for promotion of digital transactions in the State. Under this, customers would be provided with the facility of making their payments towards government dues through Point of sale (PoS) machines.
The Memorandum of Understanding in this regard was signed in the presence of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal and Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu, here today.
The documents were signed by Secretary, Haryana Finance Department, Mr. Sunil Saran, and Deputy General Manager, State Bank of India (SBI), Mr. Praveen Raghavendra, on behalf of Haryana Government and SBI, respectively.
Under the MoU, SBI would install 3,000 PoS machines in a phased manner. As many as 500 PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and other PoS devices would be provided three days after receiving the list of locations, and the remaining in batches of 500 every fortnight.
The Bank would not charge the Haryana Government for any transaction made on PoS machines, and would also not charge any amount from customers for any PoS machines transactions. The Bank would also impart training government officials to operate PoS machines.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: The Haryana Government has extended the deadline for submission of online applications for State Export Awards for the year 2015-16 on the web portal of the Department www.haryanaindustries.gov.in till December 27, 2016. Earlier, the last date for submission of online applications was December 12, 2016.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that all other terms and conditions for grant of State Export Awards would remain unchanged. He said that for further details, the scheme alongwith prescribed form has already been uploaded on web portal of the Department.
In view of the recent incidents of celebratory firings at weddings, the Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home Mr Ram Niwas has today issued instructions to all “Deputy Commissioners, Superintendents of Police, Commissioners of Police of the state to impose ban on the use of firearms during marriage processions and marriage ceremonies by imposing Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code”.
He also instructed them to take strict action against violators by confiscating their arms, suspending their licenses and registering case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code and Arms Act. In case of security need, special permission may be granted by the concerned District Magistrate for carrying such weapons, he added.
