Milk included in mid-day meal for students

CHANDIGARH, DEC 15
 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today announced that to make the mid-day meal being given to the students in schools more nutritious, 200 gram milk will be served to them three days in a week.     
          Mr Manohar Lal made this announcement while addressing the party workers in Fatehabad today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also inaugurated four developments projects and laid the foundation of equal number of projects at a cost of Rs 102 crore.
          The Chief Minister said that the Present State Government during its tenure of 25 months had spent Rs 263 crore on various development works in district Fatehabad. While accepting the demand charter, he announced new development projects of Rs 150 crore for the district. Buoyed with the massive gathering of workers, the Chief Minister said that it seems like the party meeting has converted into a public meeting.
          He said that nutritious food would be served to the students so as to ensure their proper physical development and added that they would be given 200 gram milk from April 2017 onwards on which a sum of Rs 83 crore per year would be incurred. He said that on January 22, 2017, foundation stone of 22 new collages for women would be laid in the State. He hoped that the Haryana would soon surpass Punjab in term of milk production and become number one state in the country in this field.
          The Chief Minister announced to upgrade the 50 beded General hospital to 100 beded and said that a new hospital would also be constructed in sector-9 at cost of Rs 9.35 crore. He said that Rs 50 crore would be spent on the repair and reconstruction of eight minor and sub-minors in the district. He also announced a sum of Rs four crore for the remodeling of  seven other distributaries, upgradation of sub-health centre Bighar by constructing  new Primary Health Centre at a cost of Rs six crore. He said that a Bank Square would also be constructed in Fatehabad at a cost of Rs four crore and announced that Panchkarma and Ayush Centres would be set up at a cost of Rs two crore. He also announced to construct vyayamshalas in nine villages, Rs 50 lakh for the purchase of new super sucker machine for ensuring cleanliness of sewerage, construction of new road from Ramsara to Mahrana and  construction of additional water works in Gorakhpur. He said that Rs 6.5 crore would be spent on improving drinking water supply in about dozen villages of the district.
           On this occasion, the Chief Minister also listed various achievements of the State Government.
          BJP State President Mr Subhash Barala, Transport Minister Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Chairperson of Haryana Scheduled Castes, Finance and Development Corporation Mrs Sunita Duggal also addressed the workers.
