Haryana would soon become free from level crossings as the state government has signed an agreement with the Railway Ministry to expand the rail network in the state. All level crossings would be converted either into railway underpasses or overbridges. Besides, railway stations in the state would be modernized.
This was announced by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while addressing a well attended public meeting at Matenhail in Jhajjar district, today.
Expressing happiness over the positive response of the Union Defence Ministry to the proposal for opening Sainik School in Matanhail, the Chief Minister said that he, along with officers of the Central Government, would soon lay foundation stone of Sainik School after getting final approval. The state government has already requested the Union Defence Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, to grant approval for setting up a Sainik School in this area.
While accepting all the demands made by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Mr O.P. Dhankar, the Chief Minister also announced several projects for the welfare of local residents, including Rs 15 crore for development of rural areas of the Vidhan Sabha, and Rs 5 crore for the urban areas. Bhindawas would be developed as a tourist destination. Work of the Chuchhakwas by-pass would be got conducted by the government provided villagers gave about 51 acres of land required for the purpose at market rates.
He announced Rs 3 crore for various works of the Public Health Engineering Department, Rs 4 crore for setting up Vyayaamshalas in 15 villages, Rs 5.5 crore for Gram Sachivalyas in 18 villages, Rs 1.15 crore for change of electricity wires, Rs 8.5 crore for drainage works by Irrigation Department, Rs 1 crore for new rooms and renovation of school building, Rs 12 crore for roads, new building of the veterinary hospital, Rs 1.5 crore for library, Rs 2 crore for new building of fire station, Rs 3 crore for the municipal committee building and Rs 50 lakh for a multipurpose hall in Jahanaara Stadiam.
Apart from this, an industrial estate would also be established as the state government is giving special package to industries in the backward areas.
Mr Manohar Lal said that mapping was being done to establish new colleges as per the need of the area. The demand for setting up a women's college here would definitely be fulfilled. "We had announced to open 28 new colleges in two years. Foundation stones of six have already been laid and of the remaining 22 girls’ colleges would be laid simultaneously on January 22 to promote girls education in the state", he added.
Lashing out at the previous government for lopsided development just to gain political mileage, Mr Manohar Lal said the erstwhile Congress government only gave the slogan of number one but did not work for all-round development of the state. After taking reins of the administration two years ago with the support of people, the BJP Government has taken the task of changing the old system of politics.
"We are not working to grab votes and I am not here to seek votes. People will cast votes as per their choice. You will form the government again if you consider it good. No former chief minister visited all the 90 Assembly segments in the first two years. Probably they turned up but only during the elections. I would complete visits to all the 90 constituencies on December 25", he added,
Further taking a dig at the previous government, he said that all from top to bottom indulged in corruption. We are working to root out corruption at levels in the administration with the promotion of e-governance and online system. To date, no one could frame charges of corruption against the BJP Government. I am ready to take action if anyone can prove charges with evidence", Mr Manohar Lal added.
Referring to demonetization of high denomination currency notes, he said that Prime Minster, Mr Narendra Modi, had taken a significant decision on November 8. Now raids are being conducted to check hoarding of illegal currency. Corruption flourishes with cash transactions. All this would be checked with e-wallet and digital banking. We are making consistent efforts in this direction, he said.
The Chief Minister highlighted the efforts and works of the present government to streamline the education and health sectors as well as to promote industry in the state to ensure employment to the youth. He later inaugurated the second water works of Matanhail, 33 KV sub-station at Chuchhakwas and laid the foundation stone of new Canal Rest House, Jhajjar.
Welcoming the Chief Minister, Mr Dhankar said that demonetisation of old currency was a step toward economic freedom. He highlighted the various initiatives taken by the present government for the welfare of the people.
The Public Works (Building and Roads Minister), Rao Narbir Singh, Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr Manish Kumar Grover, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Nayab Singh Saini, and District BJP President, Mr Bijender Dalal, also spoke on this occasion.
