CM announces regularising unauthorised Faridabad colonies

CHANDIGARH, JULY 23
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, today announced that all those unauthorised colonies of Faridabad where the residents paid development  charges at the rate of Rs 1,250 per square meter, will be regularised.  RERA will come into existence in two months, he said. 
          Mr Manohar Lal made these announcements while hearing the grievances of people at a three-hour  ‘Janta Darbar’ organised in MCF Auditorium, Faridabad, today. He directed the officers concerned to redress the same at the earliest.
          While hearing the grievances, the Chief Minister said for converting the unauthorized colonies of Faridabad into authorized ones, the state government had fixed development charges at Rs 1,250 per square meter and the colonies where the residents pay these charges would be notified as authorized.
          Development works will be taken up in these colonies after these are regularised. An escrow account in the name of Resident Welfare Association of that colony will be opened in a bank branch and after development charges are depoisited by at least 50 per cent of the residents living there, announcement will be made to regularize or authorize the colony.  
          The Chief Minister said the government was also considering a plan to improve the living standard of slum dwellers by offering them alternate houses, for whom rates will be kept at minimum possible.
     Reacting to a complaint related to developer area, the Chief Minister said in the next two months RERA will come into existence in Haryana. Either the developer will have to hand over the flat or refund the money taken from the buyer. He expressed the hope that majority of the disputes between developers and apartment buyers would be resolved. 
         On the issue of reviving Badkhal Lake, the Chief Minister said that work was going on to fill water in this lake from two sides. It will enhance tourism potential of this lake.
          On the issue raised by the Union Minister for State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Pal Gujjar, the Chief Minister directed the MCF authorities to take up cleanliness drive in NIT area with the help of residents. Mr Gujjar had said that NIT area comprised colonies where cleanliness, proper drinking water and sewerage facilities should be ensured.
          The Chief Minister also said that the Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) would be given more works and allotted more funds. He asked the sarpanches to properly utilize the allotted funds properly.
                 Mr Manohar Lal said the state government was ready to provide round-the-clock power to villages, provided the line losses were cut down to below 20 per cent. He appealed to the people to deposit their electricity bills on time and get meters installed outside their premises.
          On this occasion, the Union Minister of State, Mr Krishan Pal Gujjar, Haryana Industry Minister, Mr Vipul Goel, MLAs Seema Trikha, Tekchand Sharma, Moolchand Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Mr Samir Pal Srow, Commissioner of Police, Hanif Qurashi, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Faridabad, Sonal Goel were also present.
