Haryana seek ten additional companies of Para-military forces

CHANDIGARH, JULY 7
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) B.S Sandhu said that ten additional companies of Para-military forces have been sought from the Centre in view of the call given by Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) to stop Punjab vehicles from entering Haryana on July 10, 2017. 
            Mr Sandhu was replying to the queries of media persons soon after the meeting held here today between the police officers and home secretaries of both States regarding the proposed agitation.
            He said that at present orders have been issued for four companies of Para-military forces and if required, more such companies would be sought. Police officers as well as home secretaries of both Haryana and Punjab discussed this issue in detail so as to ensure that commuters do not face any inconvenience.
            In reply to a question, Mr Sandhu said that there is a possibility of blocking the road at five or six places that day but the police has made adequate arrangements for the smooth flow of traffic. On the sensitive places, he said that though roads could be blocked at two places in Ambala and one place each in Dabwali, Kaithal and Jind but the police administration is fully vigilant and the agitation would be resolved peacefully. 
            On being asked about the law and order situation in the districts adjoining Punjab, he said that  in a  video conference held here today with all the Superintendent of Police and Commissioner of Police , they have been directed to remain fully prepared to deal with the agitation. Apart from this, Superintendent of Police of districts adjoining the borders of both States has also spoken to each other to peacefully resolve the agitation through mutual cooperation. 
            He appealed the INLD for peaceful agitation and co-operate with the police administration. 
            Earlier, interacting with the media persons Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr Ram Niwas made it clear that proper law and order situation would be maintained in the State. It would also be ensured that people do not face any inconvience due to the proposed agitation.
