Guidelines to provide help to road accident victims

The Haryana Government has issued guidelines to ensure immediate medical aid to the victims of vehicular and other accidents.
          In a circular issued by Home Department to Director General of Police, to all Deputy Commissioners, Sub Divisional Officers (Civil), Commissioners of Police and all Superintendents of Police in Haryana, it has been stated that the victims of motor vehicular and other accidents would be immediately transported to nearest hospital for immediate medical aid without insisting on the unnecessary formalities. The Police personnel present on the spot or on reaching the spot would be responsible for immediate transportation of the victims of accidents without causing any delay on account of unnecessary formalities.
          Similarly, the persons present on the spot of accident should also help out in the transportation of victims of accidents for immediate medical aid to the nearest hospitals without hesitation. Police personnel will not subject the helping person to un-required enquiries. The police personnel will not inconvenience or harass the persons, who help in transporting the road side victims to the hospitals in any manner. All measures will be adopted for providing medical aid immediately at the nearest hospital without causing delay so as to save precious lives and limbs of the victims.
          These guidelines have been issued for providing timely medical aid to road side accident victims and also to ensure that persons who help in transporting such victims could not be subjected to unnecessarily inconvenience under the grab of investigation.
