Two Haryana girls get National Awards

NEW DELHI, JULY 27
Society for Promotion of Science & Technology India (SPSTI) president and former Chief Secretary of Haryana  Dharam Vir stated here today that two girl students of Haryana, namely, Meenakshi, class XII of K. M. School, Bhiwani and Seema Bansal, student of class V of R. K. Jain School,Gohana, were selected for first and second prizes for their posters on earth related themes.
 The prizes were given today at the function held to celebrate the Earth Sciences Foundation Day 2013 at the Vigyan Bhawan.  
Meenakshi had participated in the poster competition during the celebration of the Earth Day organized by SPSTI at Bhiwani on April 22, 2013 and her poster was adjudged to be the best. Her poster was sent to the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India for consideration for award at the national level.
The award was given by an internationally acclaimed earth scientist, Prof. Sir Prian Hoskins, Director, Grantham Institute Climate Change, Imperial College, London, in the presence of Mr. Jaipal Reddy, Union Minister for Science and Technology.
