Karnal to have ultra-modern bus-stand

Karnal will soon have an ultra-modern bus-stand offering international level facilities. To be constructed at a cost of Rs 300 crore in public-private partnership mode, the bus-stand will be fully operational within two-and-a-half years. Its six bays in the first phase will be dedicated to the people within one year. The other phases would be completed in scheduled time.
           This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while addressing a well attended public meeting in Karnal today after laying the foundation stone of the new bus-stand to be set up on 32 acres of land.
            He said that the ultra-modern bus-stand would be constructed on about 12 acres and 10 acres of land would be utilized for developing a modern Drivers Training Institute. A workshop would be set up on the remaining 10 acres.
      The bus-stand would have international level facilities like e-toilet, air-conditioned waiting rooms, modern shopping malls, fun and play zone, restaurant, food court, basement parking, cycle/taxi/auto stand etc. The offices at the bus-stand would have modern facilities like ticket vending machine, digital time table, digital information and modern safety equipment. These facilities would be rolled within two to two-and-a-half years, he added.
          The Chief Minister said that the process of linking all villages with broadband had already been started and so far such facilities had been provided in 2,500 villages. Translating the Prime Minister's vision to provide houses to everyone by 2022, the Haryana Government plans to provide houses to about two lakh people.
          The state government has succeeded in its efforts to curb corruption. Under the Mhara Gaon-Jagmag Gaon scheme, electricity is being supplied for 12 to 15 hours to 1,000 villages through 250 feeders. Similar facility would be provided in other villages also so that people could get 24-hour power supply.
He asked the people to pay their electricity bills on time. Referring to the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao campaign, he said that the sex ratio had increased to 900 from 837 due to the sincere efforts made by the government with people's support. The day is not far when we achieve our target of 950, he added.
          The Chief Minister later laid the foundation stones of development-cum-extension portion of the new grain market at Assandh,  community centre  in ward number six in Kambopura village, community centre in ward no 5 in the village of Phoosgarh and a sports stadia in Indergarh village.
He also inaugurated a railway over bridge on Klarsa Dhand Road at Nilokheri, new building of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribe wing of the Industrial Training Institute, Karnal, and a newly constructed Nandi Gram at village Phoosgarh.
          The Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Minister of State for Food and Supplies, Mr Karan Dev Kamboj, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr Bakhshish Singh Virk, Chairman HAFED Mr Harwinder Kalyan, and MLA Mr Bhagwan Das Kabirpanthi, also spoke on this occasion.
OSD to Chief Minister Mr Amrinder Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Transport, Mr S.S. Dhillon, Mayor MC Karnal, Mrs Renu Bala, and other prominent people were also present on this occasion.
