Medical assistance to pilgirms returning from Haridwar

CHANDIGARH, JULY 22
In view of a large number of people travelling to Haridwar and returning in the month of ‘Shravana’, the Haryana Government has made special medical arrangements which would remain as such up to August 1, 2016.
        While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Health Department said that all the Civil Surgeons were directed to  coordinate with respective Deputy Commissioners and Police Department to identify the routes on which heavy flow of such travelers is expected and also identify places of halt and night stay. He said that each district was directed to  set up a control room for this purpose and the details regarding the contact person and the helpline phone number of the control room are widely displayed in their respective districts and circulated through various media.
        He said that all Sub Centres, Primary Health Centres, Community Health Centres and Civil Hospitals have been kept  with availability of required manpower, beds, drugs and consumables. Mobile teams with EMT/Pharmacist have been  formed and their schedule of visit to such places of halt and night stay has been  worked out by the Civil Surgeon concerned in consultation with all the stake holders. Such visits of the mobile teams are being ensured in the early morning hours when such travelers usually start the journey for the day and also in the evening hours when they   reach  their place of halt and night stay.
        He said that each such place of halt and night stay   have a first aid box with such necessary medications as can be dispensed without medical prescription and such first aid boxes are replenished each day.
