Anu Kumari named brand ambassador for Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 28
The Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain, has named Ms Anu Kumari, who achieved  second rank in the Civil Services exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission as the brand ambassador for the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme in Sonipat district.
         The significant achievement of Ms Anu Kumari has given a befitting reply to such people as have killed their daughters in the womb. She has emerged as an inspiration in changing the mindset of people towards the girl child, she said.
          Congratulating Ms Anu Kumari and members of her family on her success, Mrs Jain said today daughters are in no way behind in any field. There is need to give them opportunity to prove their mettle. It is a matter of pride not only for Sonepat but for the entire Haryana that daughter from an ordinary family has proved her mettle in the All India Civil Services exam by securing 2nd rank.
Among top five ranks of UPSC, three ranks have been bagged by the youth from Haryana and Ms Anu Kumari has secured the second place.
          The Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij, Member of Parliament, Mr Ramesh Chander Kaushik, and Chairperson, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Mrs Krishna Gahlawat, have also congratulated Ms Anu Kumari on her matchless achievement.
Meanwhile, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has congratulated all candidates from the state for having cracked the prestigious civil services examinations this year.
          In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said, “The splendid success of our youth has made the state proud. I convey my appreciation for their significant achievement and hard work and wish them a successful career ahead.”
          He specifically congratulated Ms Anu Kumari of Sonipat for securing second rank in the UPSC exam, and hoped that by drawing inspiration from her, our daughters would continue to work hard to show their capabilities.
MANN KI BAAT: The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, along with villagers, will listen to the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme in the village of Babail in Panipat at 11 am on April 29, 2018. He will also discuss issues concerning the villagers.
ANIL VIJ'S WARNING: The Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij, has said that a drive has been launched by the department and stern action is being taken to prevent the practice of unnecessarily referring the patients coming to civil hospitals outside. In this connection, charge-sheet is being issued to the Civil Surgeon, Gurugram.
Apart from terminating the services of a doctor, services of many medical officers have been placed under suspension. Stern action will be taken on getting similar complaints from other districts.
          Flagging off Advance Life Saving Ambulance in Ambala Cantt today, Mr Vij said even though civil hospitals had all modern facilities, doctors kept referring patients in cases of deliveries which showed negligence towards duty.
          All modern healthcare facilities such as Cath Lab, dialysis, CT-scan, emergency services have been provided in the Civil Hospital, Ambala Cantt. This Ambulance will be helpful in saving the lives of the injured and other patients in emergencies as it has been equipped with all life saving devices and medicines, he added.
