Haryana Chowkidara (Watchman) Rules, 2013 amended

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 5
 Haryana Cabinet which met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal here today, approved the amendment in Haryana Chowkidara (Watchman) Rules, 2013 and enhancement of Honorarium and other allowances of Chowkidar.
          The Cabinet approved the enhancement of honorarium of Village Chowkidars from Rs 3,500 per month to Rs 7,000 per month, uniform allowance from Rs 2,000 per annum to Rs 2,500 per annum, Lathi/Battery/Umbrella allowance from Rs 750 per annum to Rs 1,000 per annum and one time bicycle allowance of Rs 3,500.
          The qualification for new recruits has been changed from VIII pass to X pass.
          New duties have been added to the existing one. Now, he would also prepare the register of birth and death and would send a monthly report to the District Magistrate. He would inform the police station about any type of situation related to law and order. He would assist the police in controlling the law and order situation. He would inform the police about theft of electricity, water, trees, animals, machines and equipment of agriculture. He would assist the police to clear the blockade of road and traffic. He would assist the police in extinguishing fire in the fields. He would assist the police control room and emergency response vehicles in case of necessity. He would remain present during the visit of VIPs and VVIPs and would assist the Police and District Administration in official works. Apart from these, he would carry out the work assigned to him by the District Magistrate from time to time.

 PENSION REVISED: The Haryana government has amended the Haryana Civil Services (Judicial Branch) and the Haryana Superior Judicial Service (Revised Pension) Part-I Rules, 2011 and the new rules will be called the Haryana Civil Services (Judicial Branch) and the Haryana Superior Judicial Service (Revised Pension) Part-I (Amendment) Rules, 2018.
          A decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of State Cabinet held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today.
          As per the new Rules, the Judicial Officers who retired between January 1,1996 and December 31,2005, their pension will now be revised by raising the same by 03.07 times with effect from January 1,2006.
