550th Prakash Utsav of Guru Nanak DevJi in Sirsa

CHANDIGARH, JULY 8 
 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that on the occasion of 550th Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a state level function will be organized in Sirsa in the first week of August.
          On the invitation of the Chief Minister, a large number of Sikh Saints and great personalities met him at his residence, here today. On this occasion, detailed discussions were held to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in a grand and historic manner.
          The Chief Minister said that last year, the Haryana Government had organized state-level function to celebrate the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He said that this time also, the 550thPrakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is being celebrated. For this, a state level committee has been constituted through which a target has been set to organize several programs related to Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji across the state. 
          He said that Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had a special attachment with Kurukshetra, therefore in his memory, a grand panorama and museum will be built, literature will be distributed and to protect the environment, saplings will be planted and resolve will be taken to save water. He said that state level function will be organized in Sirsa in the first week of August.
          The Chief Minister was presented with a ‘shawl’ and a ‘siropa’ by the Sikh Saints. Others present on this occasion included MLA of Assandh Assembly Constituency, Mr. Bakhshish Singh Virk, besides the Head of Damdami Taksal, Saint Harnam Singh Dhumma, Chairman of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee, Sardar Govind Singh Longowal, Giani Singh Iqbal, Mahant Karmjit Singh, Joga Singh Karnal, Baba Dhunidas, Saint Darshan Singh Shastri and representatives of several religious organizations.
CHECK ON CRIMES:  Manohar Lal said that the law and order system in the state is perfect and Haryana Police is fully capable of putting a check on crimes. Haryana Government had launched Dial 100 for the information of crimes, now the Central Government has launched Dial 112 for the entire country. This scheme of the government will enable to curb crimes and criminal activities.
          The Chief Minister was replying to the questions of media persons in Karnal today. Earlier, the Chief Minister inquired about the murder of Dr. Rajiv Gupta from the Director General of Police, Mr. Manoj Yadava, Inspector General, Mr. Yogendra Nehra and Superintendent of Police, Mr. Surendra Bhoria, and issued directions to immediately take steps to arrest the accused in this case. 
          The Chief Minister expressed deep sorrow over the murder of Dr. Rajiv Gupta. He said that he is in contact with police officers since last night to know the matter behind his murder. He said that the DGP has assured him that soon the entire incident will be exposed. The Chief Minister said that the police has taken some people into custody for questioning on the basis of suspicion.
          Replying to another question, the Chief Minister said that the law and order in Haryana is better and strict directions have been issued to the police so that there should be no such incidents. Now there is decline in number thefts and snatching incidents.
          The Chief Minister said that new recruitments have been made to increase the strength of police force in the state and modern equipment have also been provided to the police.
