Cooperation movement significant in socio-economic development

CHANDIGARH, JULY 6 
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said that the cooperation movement has made significant contribution in the socio-economic development of the country. There are about 28,000 cooperative societies in Haryana, which are helping 50 lakh members directly and almost all the people in the state in some way or the other.
        Mr. Manohar Lal was speaking as the chief guest in the International Cooperative Day function at Yamunanagar today. 
          Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar presided over the function and Haryana Minister of State for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover co-chaired the program. Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Kanwar Pal and Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria were special guests. The dignitaries present in the function also planted saplings.
          On this occasion, the Chief Minister flagged off 19 mobile banking vans, which will provide banking related services to the villagers at their doorstep. Apart from this, he also launched e-commerce website for online sale of Vita milk and milk products.
          While addressing the members of the cooperative societies, farmers and labourers from across the state, the Chief Minister said that about 75 percent of the class is associated with cooperation and the co-operative societies being run by their members are the democratic institutions. He said that Haryana State Cooperative Labour and Construction Federation Limited protects the rights of labourers and constitutes their committees. Till March 2019, 8040 cooperative labour and construction committees have been constituted in the state, he added.
          Describing the ‘Ek Ke Liye Sab Tatha Sab Ke Liye Ek’ as the rule for cooperation, the Chief Minister said that milk cooperative societies are working well in Haryana. He said that Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashudhan Bima Yojana was launched to provide socio-economic protection to the cattle rearers in the state. He said that the formalities for installing ethanol plant in cooperative sugar mills are being completed.
          On this occasion, Mr. Manohar Lal honoured the Kaithal Co-operative Sugar Mill, Kaithal, the Karnal Co-operative Marketing and Processing Society Limited, Karnal, the Dhand Milk Production Cooperative Society Hisar, the Bhiwani Central Co-operative Bank Limited Bhiwani, the Madha Primary Agriculture Co-operative Society Madha, the DPCARDB Fatehabad, the Dev Co-operative Society Limited, Palwal and other cooperative societies for their better performance. On this occasion, he also went around the exhibition in which 23 stalls were put up. Among these stalls, Hafed, ITI Yamunanagar and Co-operative Society Yamunanagar were honoured for their bagging top spots.
        The Chief Minister said that special steps have been taken in the state to promote water conservation and in many sections, farmers have been made aware of the direct seeding of paddy and cultivation of maize and crop diversification.
        Congratulating the farmers of Haryana for food production, Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar said that farmers have made the country self reliant in the matter of production. The state has made a lot of advancement in the field of cooperation sector, yet there is a need to further strengthen it. He said that India is an agricultural country and here the area of cooperation is widespread. He said that out of six-and-a-half lakh villages in India, six lakh villages are directly or indirectly associated with cooperation. He said that the Government is committed towards increasing the income of the farmers. In this series, the International Co-operative Fair will be organized in Delhi in October.
          Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria said that a resolution has been taken in the budget presented by the Union Finance Minister yesterday, to change the cooperative system. He said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi had talked about the future generation to be conscious of water conservation during the 'Mann Ki Baat'. “We have to take special steps for water conservation”, he added.
        Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Kanwar Pal and Haryana Minister of state for Cooperation, Mr. Manish Kumar Grover also spoke on this occasion.
        Others present on the occasion included MLA Yamunanagar, Ghanshyam Dass Arora, MLA Radaur, Mr. Shyam Singh Rana, Additional Chief Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Department, Mr. S.N. Roy, OSD to Chief Minister, Mr. Amarendra Singh and other dignitaries.
HARYANA RESIDENTS MY FAMILY MEMBERS: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said, “The 2.5 crore population of the state is my family. I have a expression of Antyodaya in my mind and we will work for the betterment of the people of weaker sections. In this direction, a ‘Parmarthi Parishad’ will soon be constituted in the state, which will work for social service”.
          The Chief Minister was speaking during Abhinandan Samaroh organised at Yamunanagar today. 
          He said that ‘Jal Sanchay Yojana’ and Meri Fasal, Mera Byora Yojana are being implemented in the state. He said that Family ID of all the families in the state will also be made. The Chief Minister said that the ‘Jan Aashirwad Yatra’ will be started around August 15 and after this, ‘Vijay Sankalp Rally’ will be held.
          Mr. Manohar Lal said that good people would rule in a democracy, for this people should change their mindset. He said that in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the people have extended their support for the Sashakt Bharat, Swachh Bharat, Samridh Bharat, Shikshit Bharat and Swasthya Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He said that around three months later, vidhan sabha elections will be held in Haryana and for this, the party has given a slogan 'Abhki Bar 75 Par'.
          Describing the day as important, he said that it is International Cooperative Day. Apart from this, it is also the birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and the death anniversary of Late Babu Jagjivan Ram and we pay tributes to all great personalities.
