Haryana to bear 50 % cost of Mewat railway line project

CHANDIGARH, FEB 17
Haryana  Chief  Minister  Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that the state government would bear half of the cost of the project to link Mewat with railway line.
            The Chief Minister was interacting with a delegation led by MLA Mr. Aftab Ahmed at his residence in New Delhi. Mr. Hooda said that he too was keen for this project and he would write to Union Railway Minister, Mr. Pawan Bansal in this regard and would also meet him so that the project might be initiated at the earliest possible.
            He said that many new projects have been implemented in Mewat and work on Kotla lake project would also commence soon. He assured the delegation that their other demands would also be considered.
            Mr. Aftab Ahmed said that the delegation had called on Mr. Hooda to thank him for his announcement made on January 17 last that Mewat would be connected with railway line. He also thanked Mr. Hooda for implementing many projects in Mewat.
            The 80 year old former Sarpanch Hazi Majid reminded that it was in 1947 when Ch. Ranbir Singh, the father of Chief Minister, had visited Ghasera village in Mewat alongwith Mahatma Gandhi.
