Incentives for Haryana Roadway employees

The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda, today announced a bonanza of incentives for employees of State Roadways.
          The Chief Minister who held meeting with representatives of various Unions of employees of Haryana Roadways here today announced free travelling facility for the widows of Haryana Roadways employees in the buses of State Roadways.He also announced to increase the night shift allowance of employees working in the workshops from Rs. 18 to Rs. 40 per night. Also, he announced to increase the shoe allowance from Rs. 600 to Rs. 1000.
          Mr. Hooda also announced that on the death of Haryana Roadways employee engaged on contract basis, an exgratia of Rs. five lakh would be given as financial assistance. Apart from this, he also gave his approval for giving regular pay scale after a period of two years to the employees.
          Director General, Haryana Roadways Mr. Arun Kumar apprised the Chief Minister that the number of buses in the fleet of the State Roadways would be further increased to 4500 during this year. Mr. Arun Kumar said that 3750 conductors and 1026 drivers have been recruited   by the department. Apart from this, 1513 vacancies of drivers and 636 of helpers have already been advertised. He said that process of recruitment of drivers would be completed by May 2013 and subsequently in the three months time recruitment of conductors would be finalized. He said that as per the rule of the department the drivers could be promoted to the post of Yard Master.
          On the issue of buses of Haryana Roadways being challaned  in Delhi in an unauthorized manner, Mr. Hooda assured the Haryana Roadways Union that he would personally take up the matter with the Delhi Police.
          Mr. Hooda also directed the Transport Department to ensure minimum wages to data entry operators, sweepers, washing boys, chowkidar  and  gunmen engaged through the outsourcing policy of the State Government.
          The Chief Minister also directed the concerned officers to explore the possibilities of providing housing facilities to the Haryana Roadways employees.
          On the issue to regularize the services of 216 employees of State Roadways, who were appointed in 1993 in workshop during strike, the Chief Minister asked the Director General Roadways to consider the issue sympathetically.
          Others present in the meeting included Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sultan Singh Jadaula, Deputy Principal Secretary, R.S.Doon and other senior officers of the State Government.
