Haryana to restart board examinations for 8th class

The  Haryana Government is considering to restart board examinations for class 8th as after the implementation of Right to Education Act, it has  been made mandatory to pass every student upto class 8th which is adversely affecting the results of class 9th and 10th. Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has written  a letter to Union Ministry of Human Resource to restart board examinations for class 8th.
          Haryana Education Minister, Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal said this while replying to a question raised by MLA Narender Sangwan regarding upgradation of school in Gharaunda constituency and poor performance of the students in class 10th examinations during  the ongoing Budget Session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha here today.
          She said that poor performance of the students in class 10thexaminations is a matter of great concern and explanations are being sought from the officials of schools with results ranging from zero to 20 per cent. She said that this measure taken by the State government is yielding positive results as improved performance of the students is seen in the next semester. She said that Shiksha-Diksha Programme have been started for class 3rd to 8th. She said that Right to Education Act is implemented as per the directions of the Union Government and the State Government could not change it at its own level so Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has written to Union Ministry of Human Resource to restart board examinations for class 8th. She said that 13 schools of Gharaunda constituency have been upgraded and in the entire state 207 schools have been upgraded.
