An Open Recruitment Rally by the Army would be organized for youth of districts Ambala, Yamunanagar, Panchkula, Kaithal, Karnal, Kurukshetra of Haryana and Chandigarh from September 15 to 24 at Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana in District Ambala.
While giving this information today, an official spokesman said that recruitment would be held for the posts of Soldiers General Duty, Soldier Clerk or Store Keeper Technical and Soldier Technical.
He said that for the post of Soldier General Duty, the candidate should have passed Class X with at least 45 per cent marks and have minimum of 33 marks in all subjects. The candidate who have passed Class X with grade system should have minimum 45 per cent marks in all subjects. He said that CBSE candidates should have grade D in all subjects and total C-2 grade or 4.75 points. Similarly for the post of Soldier Clerk or Store Keeper Technical, the candidates should have passed Class XII with minimum of 50 per cent marks along with minimum of 40 per cent marks in each subject. They should have English and Math, Accounts or Book Keeping subjects in Classes X or XII alongwith minimum of 40 per cent marks in these subjects. He said that if candidate was a graduate with Math, Accounts or Book Keeping subjects,there was no condition of minimum marks in Classes X and XII. If the candidate is graduate without Math, Accounts or Book Keeping subjects, he should have minimum of 40 per cent marks in these subjects in either Class X or XII. He said that CBSE candidates should have point C-2 grade in all subjects and total five points.
The spokesman said that for the post of Soldier Technical, the candidates should have passed Class XII with 50 per cent marks and with 40 per cent marks in every subject including Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English or he should have passed Class X with 50 per cent marks and have three year engineering diploma from any institution affiliated to AICTE.
He said that the height of the candidate should be 170 centimeters for the post of Soldier General Duty and Soldier Technical, weight should be 50 kilograms and chest 77 centimeters without expanding it and 82 centimeters after expension. Similarly, height should be 162 centimeters for the post of Soldier Clerk, weight 50 kilograms, chest 77-82 centimeters.
