Spreading awarness through schools

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 22
All schools in Haryana, including private institutes, have been directed to launch campaigns, including lectures and competitions, to make the students aware about how to prevent the incidence and spread of diseases like dengue, malaria and chickungunia caused mainly due to  water-logging.
       Stating this here today, the Haryana Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, said he had directed the schools to adhere to these instructions. It is mandatory to organize speeches or lectures to make the students aware, especially during the morning assemblies, for at least one week.
        Concrete efforts are being made by the state government to prevent the spread of water-borne diseases like dengue, malaria and chickungunia. School students can play a significant role in spreading awareness. Since the main cause of water-borne disease is water-logging, necessary precautions must be taken to safeguard students and others from the virus.
        The Education Minister said that lectures on these diseases should be delivered in the morning assembly and various awareness programmes, including seminars, debates, slogan writing and paining competitions etc, held by the schools involving students. Besides, science teachers should conduct demonstrations in consultation with the Health Department.
          Heads of the school would ensure that such activities take place in their institutes. The District Education Officers have been directed to conduct surprise checking to see if such activities are being carried out in schools, Mr Sharma added.
HARYANA VIR AND SAHEEDI DIWAS: The Haryana Government has decided to observe September 23, 2016 as ‘Haryana Vir and Shaheedi Diwas’ in a befitting manner.
 While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that on this day, the martyrs would be paid tributes by organizing public meetings, functions, seminars in each district of the State.
 He said that apart from this, family members of martyr’s and the recipient of bravery awards would also be honoured by presenting them mementos. Also, the freedom fighters and Kargil war heroes would be invited in the district level functions. 
RAJENDER SHARMA PROMOTED: Haryana government has promoted Mr.Rajender Sharma, Private Secretary of Haryana Civil Secretariat as Secretary to Minister with immediate effect.
FOR BETTER COORDINATION: Inspector General of Police, CID, Mr. Anil Kumar Rao has emphasised on better co-ordination between securities agencies and Telecom Service Providers (TSPs) for national security.
        Mr. Rao was presiding over a meeting with Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, General Managers and Nodal Officers of TSPs of Haryana, Punjab and Delhi, at Panchkula near here today.
          He said that TSPs have been requested to adhere to the instructions issued by Department of Telecommunications regarding issuance of prepaid mobile connections. Such connections being issued on fake and forged documents are a big challenge for security agencies, he added.
KAPOOR APPOINTED:  Haryana Government has appointed Mr Shatrujeet Singh Kapoor, an IPS officer of Haryana Cadre, as Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam and Chairman Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam with immediate effect.
