Haryana disburses Rs 32.77 as unemployment allowance

The Haryana Government has disbursed unemployment allowance amounting to Rs. 32.77 crores  during current year and has opened nine private placement cells at major industrial towns of Gurgaon, Faridabad, Sonepat, Yamuna Nagar, Rohtak, Hisar, Panipat, Ambala and Bahadurgarh on the pattern of private placement agencies.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that to absorb the unemployed youth of Haryana in the private sector,Private Placement Consultancy and Recruitment Services Centers (PPC and RSCs) have been set up in employment exchanges. Besides, the private sector employers have been given the liberty of selecting any applicant, irrespective of seniority in registration, from the live register of the Employment Exchange.
He said that Haryana Government had set up an Overseas Placement Bureau in Panchkula. The Bureau has sent abroad 103 candidates for studies and 104 candidates for work. As many as 9534 applicants were given employment guidance between January 17,2007 and  November 30,2012. The services being rendered by this Society are available at the website www.opbharyana.com and all the services are being provided by the Bureau free of charges.
He said that Haryana Government had launched a new unemployment allowance scheme for educated unemployed. Young men whose qualification is 10 plus two or above,without Science, are given Rs.500 per month; men  who have done 10 plus 2 or above qualification, with Science, are given Rs. 750 per month; women having 10 plus 2, and above are given Rs. 900 per month; unemployed men who  are  graduate and above (without Science) are given Rs. 750 per month. The men  who are graduate  and have higher qualification,  with Science, are given unemployment allowance at a rate of Rs.1, 000 per month and women applicants who are graduate and have higher qualification are given  Rs. 1,500 per month.
With the efforts of the Employment Department, 15,092 applicants have so far been placed in various jobs through job fairs or job melas in the year 2012,he added.
