CHANDIGARH, JUNE 30
As many as 228 Panches, 7 Sarpanches and 5 Members of Panchayat Samitis have been declared unopposed after the date of withdrawal of candidature that is June 26, 2014.
While giving this information here today, State Election Commissioner Haryana Mr. Dharam Vir said that election programme for conducting the Panchayat Bye-election of 233 Panches, 25 Sarpanches, 5 Members of Panchayat Samitis and 2 Member of Zila Parishad in the State was issued on June 12, 2014.
He said that now the bye-elections would take place only in 14 districts that is for 5 seats of Panches, 18 Sarpanches and 02 Members of Zila Parishad. He said that the Poll would be held on July 6, 2014 from 8.00 A.M. to 4.00 P.M. The counting of votes in respect of Panches and Sarpanches would be held on the same day after the poll is over, whereas in respect of Members Zila Parishad, the counting would take place, on July 7, 2014 at Block Head Quarter and District Head Quarter, respectively, he added.
Mr. Dharm Vir said that the election of Panches, Sarpanches and Member Zila Parishad would be conducted by Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and all necessary arrangements for the conduct of above elections have been completed.
STAMP DUTY: The Haryana Government has remitted the Stamp Duty in whole chargeable under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899 (Central Act 2 of 1899) on the instruments pertaining to transfer of immovable property within the family by an owner during his lifetime to any blood relations namely parents, children, grand children, brothers, sisters and between spouse.
