Hooda claims Chandigarh belongs to Haryana

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said that Chandigarh belonged to Haryana. It is capital of both Punjab and Haryana and is also a Union Territory.
The Chief Minister was replying to the questions of media persons here today and his attention was drawn towards the statement made by Punjab Chief Minister Mr Prakash Singh Badal who had called on Prime Minister Mr Narender Modi and discussed with him the issue of Chandigarh.
Mr Hooda said that in all there were three issues of water, territory and Capital.
When his attention was drawn towards the possibility of weak monsoon, Mr Hooda said that his Government has never let the crops of farmers wither away for want of water. If the monsoon remained weak this year, the State Government would not let farmers suffer, he added.
PROF SAGWAN TAKES OATH: The Chief Minister administered oath of affirmation and secrecy to Prof. Khazan Singh Sangwan as Chairman of Haryana Teachers Selection Board here today.
Mr Sangwan is former Head of Department of Sociology at Mahrishi Dayanand University, Rohtak and has to his credit publication of more than 70 research papers on social issues. He has also served the Mahrishi Dayanand University as Director Sports and Registrar. He hails from village Dohki in district Bhiwani.
Those present on the occasion included Education Minister, Mrs Geeta Bhukkal, Chief Secretary, Mr S.C. Chaudhery, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr S.S. Dhillon, Principal OSD to Chief Minister, Mr M.S.Chopra, OSD to Chief Minister Mr B.R.Berry,Political Adviser to Chief Minister, Prof Virender Singh, Director School Education, Haryana, Mr Vivek Attrey and well wishers of Mr Sangwan.
Later on, while talking to media persons Mr Hooda said that with the appointment of Chairman of Haryana Teachers Selection Board, the process of recruitment of teachers would be faster and he has already spoken to Mr Sangwan in this regard.
APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR MDS COURSE: Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak has invited applications for admission to MDS, post-graduate degree and diploma courses in private dental colleges in the State.
While giving this information today, a spokesman of the University said that the last date for submission of applications is June 25, 2014. The counseling for these courses will be held in the office of Director on June 28 from 9 a.m. onwards. He said that 60 per cent of the total seats of these private colleges would be filled up by the university through counseling. Forms could be downloaded from the website of University www.uhsr.ac.in or obtained from office of Controller of Finance by paying Rs 4000 in case of General Category and Rs 1000 for Reserved Categories.
