CHANDIGARH, SEPT 22
As many as 17 candidates today filed their nomination papers for the Assembly Elections to be held on October 15 in Haryana. So far, 22 candidates have filed their nominations.
While giving this information here today, Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Mr. Shrikant Walgad said that Independent Candidate Mr. Manoj Kumar has filed nomination paper from Ambala City Assembly Constituency and Independent Candidates Mr. Lal Singh and Mr. Jai Chand Chauhan have filed nominations from Jagadhari Assembly Constituency of district Yamunanagar.
He said that candidate of National Jan Shakti Party, Mr. Ramnik Singh has filed nominations from Ladwa Assembly Constituency of district Kurukshetra, candidate of Socialist Unity Centre of India Communist (SUCIC) Party, Mr. Mahavir Singh has filed nominations from Pundri Assembly Constituency of district Kaithal, candidate of SUCIC Party Mr. Harish has filed nominations from Rohtak Assembly Constituency and Independent Candidate Mr. Attar Lal has filed nominations from Ateli Assembly Constituency of district Mahendergarh.
Mr. Walgad said that Independent Candidate Mr. Ali Hasan Sultan from Badkhal Assembly Constituency of district Faridabad and Independent Candidates Mrs. Chanderwati and Mr. Inderpal have filed nominations from Faridabad Assembly Constituency. While, Independent Candidate Mr. Inderjeet has filed nominations from Ratia Assembly Constituency of district Fatehabad and Independent Candidate Mr. Devi Lal has filed nominations from Fatehabad Assembly Constituency.
He said that candidate of Rashtrawadi Parivartan Party Mr. Hans Raj has filed nominations from Bawani Khera Assembly Constituency of district Bhiwani, candidate of SUCIC Party Mr. Rohtas has filed nominations from Tosham Assembly Constituency and Independent Candidate Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma has filed nominations from Bhiwani Assembly Constituency. He said that Independent Candidates Mr. Balwant and Mr. Raj Singh have filed their nominations from Adampur Assembly Constituency of district Hisar and Narnaund Assembly Constituency respectively.
Mr. Walgad said that the last date for filing nomination papers is September 27 and the candidates could file their nomination papers between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. upto that date. He made it clear that on September 23 and 25 there would be holidays in government offices of Haryana, but these would not be considered as public holidays according to the Negotiable Instrumental Act 1881. Therefore, candidates could file their nomination papers on these days.
The scrutiny of nomination papers would be carried out on September 29 and candidates would be able to withdraw their candidature by October 1. The polling will be held on October 15 and counting of votes would be held on October 19. The process of elections would come to an end by October 22, he added.
