200 candidates file nomination papers in Haryana

CHANDIGARH, SEPT 25
As many as 200 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the Haryana Assembly Elections to be held on October 15. So far, 295 candidates have filed their nominations.
          While giving this information today, Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, Mr. Shrikant Walgad said that six candidates from Panchkula Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Naraingarh Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Ambala Cantonment Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Ambala City Assembly Constituency, six candidates from Sadhaura Assembly Constituency and one candidate each from Jagadhari, Yamunanagar and Radaur Assembly Constituencies have filed their nominations.
          He said that two candidates from Ladwa Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Thanesar Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Pehowa Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Guhla Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Nilokheri Assembly Constituency, six candidates from Indri Assembly Constituency, two candidates each from Karnal and Gharaunda Assembly Constituencies and eight candidates from Assandh Assembly Constituency have filed their nominations. Similarly, four candidates from Panipat Rural Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Panipat City Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Samalkha Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Gannaur, two candidates from Sonepat Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Gohana Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Safidon Assembly Constituency, three candidates each from Jind, Uchana Kalan and Narwana Assembly Constituencies, two candidates from Tohana Assembly Constituency, six candidates each from Fatehabad and Ratia Assembly Constituencies have filed their nominations.
          Mr. Walgad said that one candidate from Kalanwali Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Dabwali Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Rania Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Sirsa Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Ellenabad Assembly Constituency, two candidates each from Adampur and Uklana Assembly Constituencies, three candidates from Narnaund, one candidate from Hansi Assembly Constituency, three candidates each from Hisar and Nalwa Assembly Constituencies, four candidates from Loharu, two candidates from Badhda Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Dadri Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Bhiwani Assembly Constituency and one candidate each from Tosham and Bawani Khera Assembly Constituencies have filed their nominations.
          He said that two candidates from Meham Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Rohtak Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Kalanaur Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Bahadurgarh Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Badli, one candidate from Jhajjar, two candidates each from Beri and Ateli Assembly Constituencies and nine candidates from Narnaul Assembly Constituency have filed their nominations. Similarly, one candidate from Pataudi Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Badshahpur Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Gurgaon Assembly Constituency, five candidates from Sohna Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Nuh Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Ferozepur Jhirka Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Punhana Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Hathin Assembly Constituency, three candidates each from Hodal and Palwal Assembly Constituencies, two candidates from Prithla Assembly Constituency, four candidates from Faridabad Assembly Constituency, three candidates from Badkhal Assembly Constituency, one candidate from Ballabhgarh Assembly Constituency, two candidates from Faridabad Assembly Constituency and four candidates from Tigaon Assembly Constituency have filed their nominations.
          Mr. Walgad said that today total 251 nominations have been made and so far 346 nomination papers have been filed. The last date for filing nomination papers is September 27 and the candidates could file their nomination papers between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. upto that date.   The scrutiny of nomination papers would be carried out on September 29 and candidates would be able to withdraw their candidature by October 1. The polling will be held on October 15 and counting of votes would be held on October 19. The process of elections would come to an end by October 22, he added.
