Haryana wave off loans taken from HSDFC and HBCKN

Taking first initiative of its kind in the country, Haryana Government has waived off debt amounting to Rs.154.75 crore of those who have taken loans from Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance Development Corporation (HSFDC) and Haryana Backward Classes and Economically Weaker Sections Kalyan Nigam (HBCKN) thus benefiting about 1.64 lakh such beneficiaries.
While stating this here today, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Minister Mrs. Geeta Bhukkal said that as it was a long pending demand of people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes to waive their debt. Now this decision had made them free from debt. She said that HSFDC had waived debt of Rs. 73.52 crore of 1,20,787 loanees whereas HBCKN has given a waiver of Rs 81.23 crore to 43,173 people of backward classes categories.
The Minister said that waiving of huge amount is a bold decision for the welfare of members belonging to SCs and BCs in the state and the present government had honored its commitment for their wellbeing. Earlier also the government had taken a number of welfare decisions for the benefit of all especially, the people belonging to SCs and BCs and this practice would continue in future also. She said that Chief Minister Mr. Bhupinder Singh Hooda has also announced interest subvention of 50 per cent in future to all those who would repay their loans in time, she added.
Giving district wise details of HSFDC loanees benefitted under the debt waiver scheme, Mrs. Bhukkal said that debt of 6,454 loanees have been waived off in district Ambala whereas 7,331 people have been given debt waiver in district Bhiwani. Similarly, loan of 4,552 persons have been waived in district Faridabad, 3,786 in district Fatehabad, 2,477 in Gurgaon, 11,130 in Hisar, 2,381 in Jhajjar, 11,034 in Jind, 8,311 in Kaithal, 8,480 in Karnal, 4,106 in Kurukshetra, 3,927 in Mewat, 6,055 in Narnaul, 5,218 in Palwal, 3,759 in Panchkula, 5,625 in Panipat, 5,567 in Rewari, 4,253 in Rohtak, 5,892 in Sirsa, 4,828 in Sonipat and 5,581 in district Yamunanagar.
Mrs. Bhukkal said that 2,595 people have been benefited in district Ambala under the debt waiver scheme of HBCKN. Similarly, debt of 2,103 loanees have been waived off in district Bhiwani, 1,725 in Faridabad, 1,525 in Fatehabad, 2,025 in Gurgaon, 2,827 in Hisar, 2,049 in Jhajjar, 2,545 in Jind, 1,590 in Kaithal, 2,565 in Karnal, 1,420 in Kurukshetra, 1,372 in Mewat, 2,520 in Narnaul, 815 in Palwal, 1,830 in Panchkula, 1,580 in Panipat, 2,650 in Rewari, 2,550 each in Rohtak and Sonipat, 2,252 in Sirsa and 2,085 in Yamunanagar district.
