The Haryana Government has decided to construct a multi-purpose hall with a capacity of 1000 persons and ten flats in the premises of Nabha House, New Delhi to provide residential facility to the officers posted in Delhi.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting presided over by Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal here today.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the layout of the new building of Haryana Bhawan to be constructed in New Delhi and directed the concerned officers for its early completion and ensure that it is earthquake resistant and meets all set standards required for a green building. He said that he has already directed that the government buildings in the State should be expanded vertically and not horizontally so as to utilize maximum space.
It was informed in the meeting that the new building would have separate suits for Chief Minister and Governor and these would be interconnected. Apart from this, it would have 130 general rooms, 24 suites, 34 twin sharing rooms and 78 staff dormitories. There would also be three basement parkings. It was informed that the new building would have the facility of 24 lifts. It would have accommodation for 600 persons to stay at a time. Solar panels would be installed at its roof top so as to ensure energy conservation.
It was also informed that the Government Guest House at Rai in district Sonipat is near completion and the building of PWD Rest House at Gurgaon is under construction.
Those present in the meeting included Haryana Chief Secretary Mr D.S Dhesi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Mr Hardeep Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora, Principal Resident Commissioner, Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi Mr Anand Mohan Sharan and other senior officers.
