Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal, has  urged the political parties in the state not to politicize the year-long Swarna Jayanti  celebrations  of Haryana which are above and beyond party lines, to ensure progress of the people and all-round development of the state.

The budget could be further raised to Rs 5,000 crore as the state government planned to increase the number of development projects and schemes to be executed during the year. A sum of Rs 7 crore has been spent on the inaugural function of the Swarna Jayanti celebrations organized at Gurugram on November 1, 2016 where the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, launched the celebrations.
