two-lane road connecting Faridabad and Greater Noida

CHANDIGARH, NOV 15
With a view to improve connectivity between Faridabad and Greater Noida, the Haryana Cabinet, which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal here today, approved the proposal of the Public Works (Building and Roads) Department for construction of two-lane road connecting Faridabad-Jassana-Chirsi-Manjhawali-Sheikpur in Haryana and Atta Gujran to Greater Noida Expressway in Uttar Pradesh including four-lane bridge over River Yamuna.
          With the completion of the project, there will be a reduction of 40 kms distance between Faridabad and Greater Noida. The joining of the borders of both States will reduce congestion of traffic now going from Faridabad to Noida via Delhi. Also, the saving of vehicle operating cost would be reduced and so would reduce fuel consumption, maintenance cost and travel time would also be saved. The movement of perishable goods would also be facilitated. It will also ensure all round development of the area.
          The connectivity of this project road starts from Faridabad bypass near Sector 18 and ends at Yamuna Expressway. The existing length of project highway is 23.750 kms. The existing alignment of the project is broadly straight except a few locations where geometrics need improvement.
          A total of 40.915 acres of land would be required, by way of negotiation, for the project and a total compensation of over Rs 41.95 crore would be given to the people in the villages of Manjhawali, Mojmabad Majra Sheikhpur and Sheikhpur.
          In another decision, the Cabinet approved the draft ordinance for amendment in the Punjab Scheduled Roads and Controlled Areas Restriction of Unregulated Development Act,1963.
          This amendment makes an enabling provision for inclusion of one more member in the Tribunal who shall be a professional from other fields like Law, Town Planning, Industry and Management apart from the existing provision for one member of the rank of Chief Engineer having special knowledge of roads and highways.
AHDD PROPOSAL APPROVED:  The  Haryana Cabinet approved the proposal of the Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department to transfer its 1125 acres land in lieu of 299 acres seven Kanal one Marla land for 25 years at a rate of Re one per acre per year to Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar to expand the campus of the University.
          It may be recalled that the chunk of land measuring 299 acres five Kanal six Marla belonging to GLF Hisar was allotted to the University on January 6,2011, but the plan was cancelled due to introduction of a proposal to establish Airport on that site.
ALLOTMENT OF PLOTS IN GRAIN MARKET:  The Haryana Cabinet approved the proposal of the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department for permanent allotment of plot in new Grain Market, Ateli to Swami Jagannath Charitable Trust, Ateli to set up a free Charitable Dispensary.
          It was observed that the dispensary would help the people, especially the farmers, Arthias, traders and labourers in the area of the Mandi.
