The Haryana Higher Education Department has posted the proposed selection criteria for the selection of Principals and Assistant Professors in Government aided private colleges on the portal www.highereduhry.ac.in of the department and has invited comments, suggestions and observations of all stake holders for the same.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the department said that the suggestions or changes would be uploaded on the portal of the Department within seven days for consideration or sent through email at hechrycollege4@gmail.com.
Giving details about the criteria for the selection of Assistant Professors in the government aided private colleges in the State, he said that the selection criteria comprised 100 marks. This included 50 marks for academic record, 30 marks for assessment of domain knowledge and teaching experience, five marks for teaching skills, presentations of 4-5 minute on a given topic and 15 marks for interview performance.
He said that similarly, criteria for the selection of Principals in government aided private colleges in the State also comprised 100 marks. This included 25 marks for academic background, 30 marks for assessment of teaching experience and managerial skills, 25 marks for research performance based on API score and quality of publication and 20 marks for interview.
He said that UGC and State instructions and relevant service rules would be followed in the recruitment process. He said that weightage for only one highest certificate of value would be considered for determining the overall merit. Sports certificates must be of a discipline and tournament recognized by the Sports Department of Haryana and Association of Indian Universities. He said that the teaching experience may be considered only of those candidates who have taught the concerned subject that is Arts, Science, Commerce and B.Ed. after acquiring the eligibility qualifications. For lecturers appointed in B.Ed. colleges, equal weightage is to be given to percentage in M.A, M.Sc, M.Com and M.Ed. He said that for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), appearing in SC specific interview, the eligibility would be 50 per cent. However, weightage of marks would be given at par on acquiring marks as per the above mentioned criteria, he added.
