219 boxes of illicit liquor seized in Panipat

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 14
Haryana Police has seized 219 boxes of illicit Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) in Panipat district, which was being smuggled in a truck.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of the Police Department said that Police has arrested driver of the truck and helper, who have been identified as Sahzad and Kamru, both resident of district Muzzafarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. The seized liquor was being smuggled to Bihar.
          He said that a police team got secret information that a truck (bearing UP registration number) carrying illicit liquor concealed under soap boxes is going towards Delhi from Karnal side. After getting a tip-off, the team immediately swung into action and signaled a truck at a naka to stop. After seeing the Police, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tries to run away. Police chased the vehicle, stopped it at a short distance and arrested both accused. On checking the vehicle, 219 boxes of IMFL hidden under soap boxes were recovered.
          During preliminary interrogation, accused revealed that they were carrying seized liquor from Karnal to Bihar for smuggling. A case under relevant sections of IPC and Excise Act had been registered against the accused. Both were taken on remand by producing them in the Court.
TWO PR OFFICIALS PROMOTED: The Haryana Government has promoted two officials of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, with immediate effect.
          Mrs. Nidhi Sharma, Deputy Superintendent has been promoted to the post of Superintendent and Narinder Singh, Accountant has been promoted to the post of Superintendent (District Cadre).

 Meanwhile, the Haryana Government has removed the name of Ashok Vats as non-official member from the membership of District Public Relations and Grievances Committee, Kurukshetra, with immediate effect.
        While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that a notification has been issued in this regard by the Grievances Department.
MLA DAULATPURA RESIGNATION ACCEPTED: Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha, Mr. Kanwar Pal has accepted the resignation of MLA from 40-Fatehabad Assembly Constituency, Mr. Balwan Singh Daulatpuria.
        As a notification issued by the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, consequent upn the acceptance of the resignation of Balwan Singh Daulatpuria, the seat of 40-Fatehabad Assembly Constituency has fallen vacant with effect from June 6, 2019.
3 IAS OFFICERS RELIEVED: Haryana Government has relieved IAS officers namely Shekhar Vidyarthi, Mrs. Geeta Bharti, Nikhil Gajraj and Maheshwar Sharma from the office of Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana with immediate effect as the process for Lok Sabha Elections-2019 has already been completed.
 19 HCS OFFICERS GET SUPER TIME SCALE:The Haryana Government has granted the Super Time Scale to 19 HCS officers with effect from January 1, 2019.
  These included Varsha Khangwal, Virender Singh Sehrawat, Ashima Sangwan, Satyender Duhan, Manita Malik, Satbir Singh, Amrita Singh, Yogesh Kumar, Vandana Disodia, Subhita Dhaka, Jaideep Kumar, Samwartak Singh Khangwal, Anurag Dhalia, Subhash Chander Sihag, Satish Kumar Jain, Yogesh Kumar Mehta, Devi Lal Sihag, Prithvi Singh and Naveen Kumar Ahuja.
