CM directs officials to prepare report on setting up Solid Waste Management Plant in Bhanoo village

CHANDIGARH, JUNE 1
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today visited Bhanoo village in district Panchkula where Solid Waste Management Plant is proposed to be set up and directed the officials to prepare detailed report of the collector rate and government and private ownership rights of this land. He also directed to prepare the estimates of expenditure on the entire project including construction of road to reach this land and land acquisition.
The Chief Minister said that final decision in this regard will be taken only after getting all information and holding discussions. It would be worth mentioning here that in order to establish a Solid Waste Management Plant for permanent solution to the problem being faced by the residents due to the dumping ground in Panchkula sector 23, a project has been prepared for acquiring land in village Jhiriwala.
The Chief Minister said that some people suggested that this plant should be set up on the land of village Bhanoo instead of Jhiriwala. He said that following the suggestion, the proposed place has been examined with the officials for establishing this plant. He said that the officials have also been directed to gather information about the government land available in this area of village Bhanoo so that the possibility of using it for this plant can be considered.
On this occasion when the matter of mining in the Bhanoo area came to the notice of the Chief Minister, he immediately ordered the Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula, Dr. Balkar Singh to get the whole matter investigated. He said that the investigation should be done to find out whether the mining is being carried out on private land or on the Forest Department's land. If mining is being carried out on private land, whether the land owners have received its approval from the Mining Department or not, he added.
The Chief Minister also took on the spot information of the project prepared by the Municipal Corporation officials for the construction of a Solid Waste Management Plant in the village Jhiriwala.
