The Haryana Department of Science and Technology has invited applications from students enrolled in M.Sc. and B.Sc.- 1st year with a view to encourage meritorious students towards science stream by giving them scholarships under Promotion of Science Education (POSE) Scholarship scheme. Those students include students enrolled in M.Sc. in any one of the science subjects and B.Sc. (Medical or Non-medical) in any two of the science subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology and Geology in universities and colleges of Haryana for the academic session 2014-15.
Stating this today, a spokesman of the department said that students of M.Sc. would be given a scholarship of Rs 6,000 per month plus contingency amount and stipend of Rs 5,000 once in a year whereas, the students of B.Sc. would be given a scholarship of Rs 4,000 per month plus contingency amount and stipend of Rs 4,000 once in a year. He said that for M. Sc students who have obtained minimum 75 per cent in the previous passed class i.e. B.Sc. and B. Sc. students who have obtained minimum 85 per cent marks in Class 10 +2 were eligible to apply for scholarship. He said that the subject wise or group wise (Medical or Non-medical) merit list of the candidates for award of scholarship would be prepared as per the criterion laid down in this regard by the department.
He said that students could send their applications in a prescribed format and submit it to their concerned head of institution or Department. The application form could be downloaded from the department's website http://www.dstharyana.org/ html/whatsnew.
The last date for submission of the application form is October 15, 2014.
