Maternity leave for female employees for six months

CHANDIGARH, AUG 6
The Haryana Government has decided to raise the maximum limit of maternity leave to its female employees engaged on contract basis from three months to six months with effect from August 1, 2014.
A letter to this effect has been issued by the Haryana Finance Department here today.
Now, a women employee eligible for maternity benefits and whose services have been hired on contract basis in a lawfully authorized manner would be entitled to fully-paid maternity leave up to a maximum of six months or till the currency of the subsisting contract, whichever is earlier. The benefit under the scheme would be admissible only upto two children. A woman employee, who already has two living children before her contractual engagement, would not be entitled to the benefit of maternity leave. This leave would be admissible subject to completion of minimum three months service.
The Heads of Department concerned would be competent to grant maternity leave in terms of these instructions.
SERVICES REGULARISED: Haryana Industrial Training Department has regularized the services of 214 Trade Instructors engaged on contractual basis who have completed three years service in the department.
CW GAMES WINNERS TO BE HONOURED: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda would honour all medal winners of recently held 20th Commonwealth Games in a function to be organized at Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonipat on August 8.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that in the same function the beneficiaries of Priyadarshini Awaas Yojana from all over the state would be presented with cheques. The same day, Chief Minister would also lay foundation stone of the proposed Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar National Law University at Rajiv Gandhi Education City in Sonipat.
UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE: The Haryana Government in collaboration with World Health Organisation (WHO) will explore the possibilities of building a suitable model for achieving Universal Health Coverage in the state with an aim to provide health coverage at affordable cost to all.
While stating this here today, a spokesman of Health Department said that a Memorandum of Understanding would be signed with the WHO for achieving Universal Health Coverage. This would further provide health care facilities to each and every segments of the society in all regions at an affordable cost.
He said that for achieving Universal health Coverage, it is important to assess data of actual expenditure being made both in public and private sector including the citizens for defining the road map for it. WHO has the experience of working in many developing countries will provide the technical expertise not only to collect data but for building a suitable model involving public and private health institutions for achieving Universal Health Coverage at an affordable cost.
