Haryana Sahitya Akademi has decided to honour 19 prominent writers at “Shreshth Kriti Puraskar Samaroh” to be organized at Haryana Niwas here on August 20. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Haryana, Dr. K.K. Khandelwal would give away awards.
While giving this information today, a spokesman of the Akademi said that every year academy gives away awards for best literary works in Hindi, Haryanvi and English and Hindi Story. He said that out of the about 100 books received during the year 2013, as many as15 books of Haryana domicile writers have been selected in Hindi, Haryanvi and English category for Shreshth Kriti Puraskar. He said that under this award scheme, there is a provision to give Rs 21,000 in cash and a certificate to each awarded writer.
He said that a total of nine writers would be awarded for poetry, story, novel, short story, play, biography, critique and child-literature in Hindi category. Similarly, six writers would be awarded for poetry ragini, play and folk-literature in Haryanvi category and one writer would be awarded for prose and verse in English category. Also, three writers would be awarded under Hindi Story Competition for the year 2013.
He said that under Hindi category, Dr. Radhe Shyam Shukal, Hisar for poetry ‘Kaise Bune Chadariya Sadho’, Mrs. Manjit Sharma Meera, Chandigarh for story ‘Aatm Hatya Ke Kshanon Mein’, Mrs. Manju Dalal, Bahadurgarh for Novel ‘Panah’, Mrs. Kamlesh Chaudhary, Kurukshetra for Novel ‘Khoya Hua Gaon’, Dr. Surender Gupt, Ambala Cantonment for Short Story ‘Yahan Sab Chalta Hai’, Mr. Krishan Kumar, Rohtak for Play ‘Sidhiyan Swarth Ki’, Mr. J.K. Verma, Bhiwani for Biogprahy ‘Ch. Ranbir Singh Hooda’, Mr. Jagat Singh, Ambala Cantonment for Critique ‘Samvidhan Sabha Mein Haryana’ and Mr. Sandeep Kapoor, Ambala City for Child-Literature ‘Sab Rishton Se Desh Bada’ would be awarded.
He said that under Haryanvi category, Mr. Harikrishan Dwedi, Kurukshetra would be awarded for Kavita Ragini ‘Mashal’, Mr. V.M. Bechain, Bhiwani and Acharya Mahavir Prasad Sharma, Karnal for Story ‘Shakuntala Aur Dushyant’ and ‘Ek Rupaiya Aur Ek Eint’ respectively, Mr. Madan Gopal Shastri, Hisar and Mr. Shivtaj Singh, Narnaul for Folk Literature ‘Haryanvi Gramya Jeevan Aur Riti Riwaz’ and ‘Haryanvi Lok Kavya Avm Natya Ke Gaurav Master Nekiram’ respectively would be awarded. A consolation prize of Rs 11000 will be given away to Mr. Balbir Muni, Kanina, Editor for ‘Guni Sukhi Ram Rachnawali Kavya Gyan Mani Prakash’. Similarly, Dr. Balbir Singh, Karnal would be awarded for Prose and Verse entitled as ‘An Unweeded Garden’.
The spokesman said that under Hindi story writing competition 2013, Dr. Indu Gupta, Faridabad for ‘Aap Ya Main’, Mr. Madan Sharma Rakesh, Chandigarh for ‘Apne Apne Pankh’ and Mrs. Pramod Dutta, Panchkula for ‘Diwali Ka Uphar’ would be awarded.
