7 Haryana youth emerge winners and 7 runners-up

CHANDIGARH, MAY 27
Haryana Industries and Commerce and Industrial Training Minister, Mr Vipul Goel today congratulated all the winners of the state who participated in World Skill Competition (West) that held in Jaipur. The youth of Haryana excelled in different sectoral skills in the India Skill Competition and won the highest medal tally after Maharashtra in the competition.
          Mr Goel said that the while Haryana is a force to reckon with in the sports arena, it is establishing an identity in the field of skills also. He highly appreciated the untiring efforts of Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) and Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University (HVSU) in selection and training of participants in such a short time. 
          While congratulating the young participants, Director, HSDM, Mr Raj Nehru, said that 14 skill participants of the State have qualified for National Level Competition and proved that Haryanavi youth is capable of excelling in all the fields.
          HSDM has organised Zonal and State level competitions in March – April this year, whose winners today won 14 medals at the Regional Level Competition. The young participants took part in 19 skill competitions in the skill contest, where the other participant states were Maharashtra, Himachal, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. 
          Mr Nehru said that the first year students of Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University have also participated and qualified for the National by winning second runner up position in Mechatronics skill. He congratulated the HSDM and Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University teams for their hard work and professional approach. He said that efforts by both the teams have created positive impact amongst the youth who want to take up vocational skills as a part of their career. 
          Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Skill Development and Industrial Training, Mr. T.C. Gupta, congratulated the winners and said that the state government’s top priority is skill development among youth. 
          There were 7 winners and 7 runners up from Haryana. The winners included Manoj (Electronics), Sonu Lathar (Auto Body Repair), Riteish Yadav (Web Designing), Roshan (Car Painting), Vinod (Plumbing & Heating), Prince (Cooking) and Jagat (Restaurant Service), while  Amar (Carpentry), Rohit and Manish (Mechatronics), Deepak and Rahul (RAC), Rohit (cooking) and Mukul (Rustor Service) were runners up.
