Israeli President applauds Haryana CM's efforts

TEL AVIV, MAY 9
 Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal called on Israeli President Reuven Rivlin, at his residence in Jerusalem, today. Mr Rivlin accorded him a warm welcome, saying he had rushed from a TV interview to meet him. He applauded the efforts made by the Chief Minister in improving the lot of farmers in Haryana.  
          Recalling his visit to Gharounda in Haryana in November, 2017, the President patted the back of the Chief Minister, saying that Haryana was doing a wonderful job in every field of development, right from agriculture to industry.
          Mr Manohar Lal told him that three Centres of Excellence were running in Haryana with the support of Israel, and Gharaunda was one such centre for vegetables and bee keeping. The other two are located at Ramnagar in Kurukshrtra District, and at Mangyana in Sirsa District. Two more centres have been planned, one for animal husbandry in Hisar, and another for floriculture in Jhajjar.
          The President appreciated the Chief Minister for taking active interest in and making efforts towards bettering the lives and economic lot of the farmers in Haryana. He applauded the contribution of Haryana to the Indian armed forces as well as to the central pool of foodgrains.
Meanwhile, at the insistence of the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, Tahal Group of Israel which has expertise in diverse fields, including waste water management, micro irrigation and infrastructure, has agreed to send a team of experts to Haryana soon to help find solutions to such issues as rehabilitation of 8,000 ponds in villages which are overflowing, waste water recycling and its use for irrigation after treatment.
