71.5 MT of paddy arrives in Haryana Mandis

More than 71.43 lakh metric tonnes (MT) of paddy has so far arrived in Haryana Mandis as compared to over 69.90 lakh MT of paddy arrived during the corresponding period last year.
          While stating this here today, a spokesman of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department said that out of the total arrival of paddy, government agencies had so far procured over 63.85 lakh MT of paddy whereas the remaining quantity of over 7.58 lakh MT of paddy was procured by the millers and dealers.
          He said that more than 34.75 lakh MT of paddy have been purchased by the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department. Over 19.76 lakh MT by Hafed, over 9.28 lakh MT have been purchased by the Haryana Warehousing Corporation and 4,725 MT have been purchased by the Food Corporation of India.
          He said that more than 17.49 lakh MT paddy has arrived in mandis of Karnal, over 11.42 lakh MT in Kurukshetra, over 8.82 lakh MT in Ambala and over 8.34 lakh MT in Fatehabad. Similarly, over 7.30 lakh MT in Kaithal, over 7.22 lakh MT in Yamunanagar, over 2.01 lakh MT in Sonepat, over 1.78 lakh MT in Sirsa, over 1.74 lakh MT in Jind, over 1.53 lakh MT in Panchkula, over 1.21 lakh MT in Palwal, 1.14 lakh MT in Panipat, 93,928 MT in Hisar, 22,784 MT in Rohtak, 11,483 MT in Faridabad, and 8,653 MT in Mewat.
          He said that more than 2.69 lakh metric tonnes of bajra has arrived in the mandis of Haryana so far, whereas 1.80 lakh metric tonnes of bajra had arrived in the last year so far. Out of the total arrival of bajra, more than 2.67 lakh metric tonnes have been procured by government procuring agencies.
DAP REBATE: The Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED) has implemented special rebate of Rs.50 per 50 kg bag on sale of DAP fertilizer to the farmers.
          The special rebate of Rs.50 per bag of DAP will be applicable w.e.f. November 21, 2019 to March 31, 2020 for sale to farmers. After allowing this rebate, sale rate to the farmers is Rs.1150  per bag of DAP.
          Sharing more information in this regard, a spokesman said that in its endeavour to work in the best interest of the farmers of the State, decision to this regard was taken in the meeting of Board of Administrators of HAFED held on November 21, 2019. He said that the meeting was held under the chairmanship of the HAFED Chairman Mr.  Subhash Katyal.
          He said that HAFED is making available good quality DAP and UREA fertilizer for sale to the farmers through the sale outlets of the PACS at village level as well as at Cooperative Marketing Societies.
          He said that in addition to arrangements of sufficient quantity of DAP fertilizer, HAFED  has also made pre-positioning of 0.92 lakh MT UREA for making timely availability to the farmers during the current Rabi Season and more supplies are in pipeline.   He said that HAFED is playing vital role in making timely availability of these fertilizers to the farmers of State.
