Chief Secretary flags off NCC Cadet Cycle Rally

CHANDIGARH, NOV 22
Haryana Chief Secretary Mrs Keshni Anand Arora while dedicating the NCC foundation day celebration to the daughters, flagged off a cycle rally here today.  The cycle rally of the NCC cadets was flagged off from Haryana Civil Secretariat.
          The Chief Secretary said that the main purpose of flagging off the rally is to make the candidates aware of the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao of the campaign. She also announced an incentive of Rs. 5000 each to NCC cadets who participated in the cycle rally.
          Speaking on the occasion, Mrs Keshni Anand Arora said that empowering daughters is a mass campaign and it requires a joint effort from all the sections the society. She further said that NCC was established in the year 1948 and today it is the largest uniformed organization in the world with about 1.5 million cadets.
          She said that NCC certainly gives a very important message to the youth to keep participating in the social service by building unity and discipline, secularism and mutual brotherhood and also motivates the youth to make their career in the armed forces.
          She said that while celebrating the NCC Cadets foundation day she is very happy and proud that the cadets are participating in Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao awareness Rally and are making the State proud with their tireless hard work.
          During the program, the group commander of NCC Brigadier Rajeshwar Singh said that there are about 15,000 NCC cadets in the State, out of which 6000 are girl cadets and further out of which 4 thousand girls are directly contributing to Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao.
          He said that these girls are participating in the various rallies and are holding various interaction programmes with the Sarpanches in the panchayat, motivating daughters to move forward and empowering them.
          On this occasion, the Chief Secretary presented sweets to the cadets as per NCC tradition and wished them a bright future. Principal Secretary Higher Education Department, Mr Ankur Gupta and Director Mr A. Sreenivas and other officials of NCC were present.
