IGM Run-2019 winners Rinu Kumar and Varsha honored

 CHANDIGARH, NOV 24
 Haryana Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs Sandeep Singh said that as a result of International Gita Mahotsav, Kurukshetra has made its mark world over. In order to give a new identity to this “Dharmakshetra”, the State Government has given international status to Gita Jayanti.
          Mr Sandeep Singh was speaking after flagging off the International Gita Mahotsav Run- 2019 (IGM Run-2019) organized by Kurukshetra Development Board (KDB) and District Sports and Youth Affairs Department in view of the International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra today.
          He said that with a view to connect the common man especially the young generation with this festival, International Gita Mahotsav Run- 2019 has been organized today. He said that a policy would also be framed in the state to keep the youth healthy and away from drugs.
          The Minister said that under the guidance of Governor Mr Satyadeo Narain Arya and directions of Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal, efforts are being made to make the International Gita Mahotsav memorable. He said that this year Gita Mahotsav would be celebrated with more grandeur adding that Gita Mahotsav should be celebrated as a festival by all people.  He also took this opportunity to call upon the sports persons to stay away from junk food and mobile phones and exercise regularly to keep themselves healthy.
          On this occasion, he honoured Rinu Kumar of Meerut and Varsha of Hisar by presenting them cheque of Rs 31,000 each on achieving first position in the men’s and women’s category respectively in the International Gita Mahotsav Run- 2019 (IGM Run-2019). He also gave away cheques of Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000 to the winners of second and third position respectively in both the Men’s and Women’s category.
          MLA Thanesar Mr Subhash Sudha and noted wrestler, Mr. Yogeshwar Dutt also spoke on this occasion.
