CHANDIGARH, APRIL 5
With a view to keep a check on the mining
activities in district Mewat, City Magistrate, Mr. Vinay Singh ordered the
suspension of licenses for the purchase of explosive substances, their storage
and sale for a period of two months.
While stating this
today, a spokesman of the district administration said that legal action would
be taken against those violating these orders.
It may be recalled that the mining activities were prohibited in Mewat area.
The Deputy Commissioner, Mewat had been giving instructions regularly to the
concerned officers to keep a check on mining activities in the district. In
view of this, separate teams comprising officers of police department, mining
department and forest department have been constituted. These teams have been
directed to conduct frequent patrolling and inspection at the sites.
Apart from this, with a view to ensure the security and safety of people, the
City Magistrate has also suspended the license for the purchase of explosive
substances, their storage and sale for a period of two months.
