Hartron to conduct susidised training for senior citizens

CHANDIGARH, April 16
 Haryana State Electronics Development Corporation Ltd. (HARTRON) has decided to conduct subsidised training for senior citizens and women from economically weaker section at HARTRON approved workstations in the State. The  Corporation has been spreading the IT Education through its approved workstations to meet the manpower requirements of the IT Sector. 
While stating this here today, a spokesman of the HARTRON said that these special training programmes would be conducted in all districts of the State for which the interested and eligible persons can contact the nearest HARTRON workstations to enrol themselves and for further details.
          The HARTRON, a Nodal Agency for Haryana Government is doing a pioneer work in promotion of Electronics and Information Technology in the State.  The State in its IT policy has laid strong emphasis for human resource development with a twin objective of providing necessary manpower to the IT sector for its growth and to improve the employability in the State.
          At present,   training of three month duration in four batches is being given to 4200 girls or women on Basic Computer Fundamentals and Data Entry in all 21 districts and is expected to be completed by March, 2013.  The scheme is of Women and Child Development Department, Haryana and is funded by Department of Electronics and  Information Technology, Government of India.  Computer Training of one year duration is being given in six districts of  Ambala, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Rewari, Karnal and Hisar for up-gradation of the typing and data entry skill of the unemployed youth belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes. It is expected to be extended in all  districts of the State by Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes  Department.
          He said  that the Corporation is already imparting job oriented IT Courses like career courses, professional courses and short term courses through its Hartron Approved Workstations throughout State. Courses have been designed to prepare and mould the work force in region to meet the specific demands of the industry.
          The  HARTRON has been instrumental to instil an IT culture in Government’s working by regularly conducting specialized appreciation courses in computer for officers and officials of the Haryana Government Departments, Boards and Corporations. It has also implemented Computer Training of ICT skills in Sirsa and Mohindergarh districts for elected representatives and about 2650 candidates have been imparted training on Basic Computer Fundamentals up to October, 2012.
