Punjabi Sahitya Akademi to honour meritorious students

Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Akademi has decided to honour those meritorious students of classes VIII, X and XII who have got merit in Punjabi language in exams conducted by Haryana Education Board. It has also decided to honour those Punjabi story writers of Haryana who bagged first, second and third position and those who got seven incentive awards in a story competition held last year .
          While stating this today, Director of the Akademi, Dr. Sukhchain Singh Bhandari said that the function would be held  at Akademi Bhawan in Panchkula on April 22.  He said that Director General, Haryana Information, Public Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, Mr. Sudhir Rajpal would be the Chief Guest on this occasion.
          With a view to encourage students of Haryana studying Punjabi language and story writers of Haryana, the Akademi organises such functions from time to time, he added.
